INGREDIENTS:
1 small head of red cabbage, cut into slices (about ½ inch thick)
1 large granny smith apple (peeled)
¼ teaspoon kosher salt
¼ teaspoon black pepper
¼ teaspoon sugar
4 tablespoons butter
¼ cup apple cider vinegar
⅓ cup Tennessee Gourmet® Apple & Spice (any flavor)
DIRECTIONS:Place sliced cabbage rings in steamer, sprinkle with salt, pepper and sugar. Steam the cabbage for 3 minutes. Using a grater with ½ inch slots shred the apple and set aside. Once cabbage has steamed add the shredded apple on top and continue to steam for an additional 5 minutes.
Remove from heat and drain. Melt the butter in a saucepan. Add the cabbage and apple, vinegar and Apple & Spice Sauce. Lightly toss the mixture. Continue to cook and toss for five minutes or until tender.
